If you look up at your roof and notice that most of the shingles are curling and the roof is in a state of deterioration,  the roof will need to be torn-off.  At Prime we have dedicated ourselves to providing excelllent value  and a complete tear-off always includes the
following:

  • Complete tear-off of your old roof down to the plywood
  • 2 Sheets of free plywood incase there is rotten wood.
  • Installation of Ice and Water Shield around the perimetre, in valleys, areound chimneys and on lower sloped roofs
  • Felt Paper over the remainder of the roof.
  • New Dripedge
  • New Flanges
  • The best ventillation for your roof (usually ridgevent.).
  • New Flashings including around the chiimney
  • Installation of the shingles in the appropriate manner
  • Complete clean-up of your property, including the evestrough.

You look up at your roof and everything looks fine; however, there is a leak.  In many instances, you dont need to replace your entire roof: you CAN repair one area of your roof if there has been a failure due to the following:

PR1MES Overtop Option

In Ontario, we are legally allowed to apply a second layer of shingles to roofs.  This is a fantastic option for alot of families for the following reasons:

  • This is an extremely cost effective choice.
  • There is minimum cleanup and disruption
  • The Shinlge Warrantee is the same if you go overtop.
  • Your roof will look exactly the same as if you tore of the existing roof

The Shingles We Love to Install


IKO are a Canadian manufacturer with all of their shingles for our area being produced in Brampton, Ontario.  We predominantly install their "Cambridge" Shingle.  Unlike Certainteed, their foray into higher shingles is extremely limited.

Certainteed are an American manufacturer based out of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.  We predominantly install their "Landmark Canada" shingle; however, Certainteed offers a wide array of higher end shingles.

We like both Cambridge and Landmark shingles firstly because of the weight per square.  This is the number one determining factor of how long your roof will last.  It determines the warrantee length of the shingle.  Secondly, we love the colour choices both companies offer.    This may seem a little frivolous; however, when your roof is installed, it is going to be there for a very long time and you really want to choose a colour that looks timeless and will not date.  Certinateed's colours are liberal, beautiful, and unique.  IKO, on the other hand, offers colours that are much more conservative.  We love that we can offer our clients such a wide array of choice.  Finally, we love the support that Certainteed and IKO offer both our clients and our company.  Neither can not be matched in this department!!!
